Ian Rapoport trolled Jordan Schultz over NFL combine spat with joke about his favorite coffee brands
The annual NFL Scouting Combine is a useful tool for NFL teams to do their comprehensive homework on that year's top draft prospects. But outside of that specific purview, if we're being candid, there isn't really much for fans and the media to pay attention to that's intriguing or eye-popping. It's pretty dry.
This year's combine probably would've gone off without a hitch, as normal. That is, until the reported drama between NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz. After Rapoport and Schultz reportedly got into a verbal altercation on Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter poked fun at the incident with a hilarious tweet invoking an Indianapolis Starbucks — the alleged scene of the incident between Rapoport and Schultz.
On Thursday, during NFL Network's NFL combine broadcast, Rich Eisen introduced Rapoport by unsubtly hinting at the drama between himself and Schultz. Rapoport ran with this set-up by trolling Schultz with a joke about how he's "properly caffeinated" thanks to some of his favorite brands ... like Dunkin' (notably omitting Starbucks).
Rich Eisen introduces Ian Rapoport on the NFL Combine broadcast: "He is the Jake Paul of NFL Network. Lots of buzz. He's trending with no punches thrown. Ian Rapoport."
Rapoport: "I'm properly caffeinated. Lot of great coffee brands; Dunkin' does a really nice job..." 🏈🎙️🥊☕️ https://t.co/D2rRTbLnhu pic.twitter.com/p3wLf3l2sT— Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) February 27, 2025
Who knew there could be this much drama between members of the NFL media while they're public-facing? Well, at the very least, we're getting a few laughs out of it.
