Hilarity ensues as golf spectator picks up live ball
A clueless spectator at the Olympic golf competition thought she was going home with a free souvenir, picking up a ball in play.
Gold medallist Justin Rose sent an errant tee shot into the crowd, with the excited lady spotting the ball and pouncing on it.
Her reaction upon realising the faux pas was priceless.

The woman was seen covering her mouth with her hand as an attendant hurried in to mark the spot where the ball had landed.
According to the rules of the sport, spectators are not allowed to deliberately deflect or stop a ball in motion.
Why did you go to watch the #Rio2016 Golf as a spectator and decide to pick up an Olympian's golf ball 🗣you fool! 😳

The golf marshals haven't got a clue. Can't remember seeing a pro golf tournament where a spectator picks the ball up. #rio2015

I'm thinking most fans at #OlympicGolf haven't been to a golf tournament before. One spectator just picked a players ball up from a fairway

She wasn't the only spectator to interfere on Day 9 in Rio:
