Can you spot why this photo of Federer and Nadal has gone viral?

If you remember what Roger Federer said during the Australian Open in January, you’ll immediately recognise why fans have lost it over this photo.

When Federer was Down Under five months ago, he produced the above piece of gold during an on-court interview with Channel 7’s Jim Courier.

After great rival Rafael Nadal brought back his signature sleeveless tank top at Melbourne Park, Courier asked Federer whether he would follow suit.

“That’s not going to happen,” Federer said with a laugh.

“My arms are not like his arms.”

And while we’re unlikely to ever see Federer go sleeveless during a tournament, it seems he’s more than happy to get the guns out in practice.

The Swiss legend was rocking a tank top in Dubai over the weekend, where he’s preparing for the upcoming grass court season.

And a young fan managed to snare a photo with the great man.

And in a unique twist of fate, Nadal was actually wearing the same top across the world in Spain.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the fact, and where more than happy to point out that Federer was indeed correct in his original assessment of his arms compared to Rafa’s.

However as Anna Chakvetadze once said: “Tennis is not bodybuilding.”

“Nadal himself says he hits the gym once or twice a week. True or not, I can’t say.

“And yet there is Federer, he is the opposite. And at the moment he has won more titles.”
