Penrith star's brilliant gesture for nervous young fan

They might not have beaten South Sydney on Friday but one young Penrith fan still had a night to remember.

The Panthers fell 22-18 to the Rabbitohs in a tense but spiteful clash.

For a particular supporter, the best moment wasn't high-profile stars Dallin Watene-Zelezniak or Viliame Kikau crossing for tries in the second half.

It was after the game, with a little-known forward leading the way.

Penrith fan Jacob Sheppard shared the story on Twitter late on Friday night:

"Just been in the sheds after the game tonight and it was great to meet the boys and grab some selfies," he began.

"But one thing really stood out: there was one fan there on his own, he seemed quite nervous and had nobody to take his photos for him.

"Well out of nowhere young Hame Sele went around the sheds grabbing different Panthers superstars and personally took photos of this young fan with all of his idols.

"He didn't have to do this but he went out of his way to make sure a young member of the Panther family didn't lose out on what was a special occasion.

"Well done Hame, you're a credit to your family and this club."

Sele joined the Panthers for 2019 after playing 18 games over two years for St George Illawarra.

The 22-year-old, who played the first five games of the NRL season, had played in Penrith's NSW Cup game earlier on Friday night.
