Jason Day's wife reveals miscarriage heartbreak

The wife of Aussie golf star Jason Day has revealed they have lost their third child to miscarriage.

Ellie Day took to social media on Tuesday to break the tragic news.

“I was devastated,” she said. “Two-and-a-half weeks went by with me battling my heart and brain about what was happening in my body, wondering why this wouldn’t just be over.”

Ellie Day said she lost the baby on November 23, just two weeks after announcing the pregnancy.

“Initially, I felt complete despair. And then I saw the baby. Fully intact,” she wrote.

“Tiny, perfect head and face and arms and legs.

“This was a perfectly well thought-out, precious life formed in my belly, and it most certainly went straight to the arms of Jesus.”

Ellie also expressed her sympathies to other women who have suffered the same fate.

“I hope you know you aren’t alone and I hope you feel God wrap his arms around you when you feel the depths of sorrow and loss,” she said.

Jason and Ellie have two children - five-year-old son Dash and two-year-old daughter Lucy.
