Golf punter's $3 million multi falls agonisingly short

What would have been one of the greatest multi-bets of all time has turned into a brutal near-miss for one golf punter.

Jordan Baker - himself a professional golfer - would have been watching on in tears as Justin Thomas won the PGA Championship on Monday.

Thomas's breakthrough major victory meant Baker fell agonisingly short of turning $3 into an incredible $3.3 million.

Earlier this year Baker placed a four-leg multi on the winners of the golf majors - betting that Sergio Garcia would win the Masters, Rickie Fowler the Britsh Open, Brooks Koepka the US Open and Thomas the PGA.

He correctly tipped Garcia at 40/1, Koepka at 80/1 and Thomas at 35/1, however Jordan Spieth went on to win the British Open, not Fowler.

Fowler finished 12 shots behind Spieth, meaning Baker's multi failed after the second leg.

But after Koepka and Thomas went on to win, he would have undoubtedly been kicking himself that he didn't tip the World No.3 to win at least one major this year.

Baker tweeted his hilarious reactions as Thomas was nearing victory.

He later tweeted Fowler, saying he'd only forgive him if he took him for a round at Augusta.
