Jordan Spieth pulls off the 'Happy Gilmore' swing at a Pro-Am

Jordan Spieth is clearly a student of golf history, and he showed it on the golf course on Sunday.

Spieth was playing in the Grapefruit Pro-Am at Vero Beach Country Club in Florida with country singer Jake Owen, who has [reviously teamed with Spieth in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, when he decided to let the Happy Gilmore swing rip on the first tee. No one in his sizable gallery saw it coming, and he pulled it off very well.

Most every serious golfer knows, if not loves, the Adam Sandler classic, but Spieth represents the second generation to appreciate the movie. Born in 1993, Spieth was just 3 years old when the movie hit theaters. Needless to say, he didn't catch it on premiere night.

NEW ERA: 2016 shapes up for Spieth, Day and McIlroy rivalry

For as enjoyable as Spieth's Gilmore is, it's not as great as fellow pro John Peterson deciding to start an official PGA Tour round with the Gilmore hockey-style golf swing during the CIMB Classic back in November.
