Golf world reacts to Bryson DeChambeau's shock body transformation
The golf 'Hulk' has undergone yet another incredible body change.
Golf's 'Hulk' Bryson DeChambeau has reinvented himself once again after the controversial character underwent another stunning body transformation in 2023. DeChambeau took the golf world by storm ahead of the 2020 season having emerged as a bulked-up version of himself.
During the initial months of lockdown in the US, DeChambeau used the time to put more weight on his frame consuming up to seven protein shakes a day. DeChameau stunned viewers when he returned to golf bigger and stronger than ever before.

Known as the 'Mad Scientist' the American garnered attention with a revolutionised frame and swing in order to give himself a competitive advantage over the field. DeChambeau also uses iron shafts that are all the same length and created headlines when the American claimed he wanted to live to 130 years old.
The 29-year-old couldn't stay out of the headlines as he constantly found himself feuding with someone on the course, before entering into a bitter feud with compatriot Brooks Koepka.
But the controversial American's competitive changes paid off. DeChambeau averaged the longest drive in the 2019/20 season at 322.1 yards. This was eight more yards than Rory McIlroy and 11 more than Dustin Johnson.
His confidence grew and thus the results came in as he finished in the top five at the PGA Championship before his maiden major win at the US Open. His feat at the US Open was special considering he finished 6-under, despite no other player breaking par.
DeChambeau carried his swagger - which divided the golf world - into the Masters in 2020. The American claimed he would be able to cut Augusta down to a par 67. This didn't bode well for DeChambeau who finished down the field in a deflating performance.
However, his focus on outdriving his opponents with monster tee shots saw the 29-year-old lose his way. Other than last year's The Open, he hasn't finished better than 26th at any major. The American joined LIV Golf, reportedly on a whopping $187 million deal.
Bryson DeChambeau's body transformation
However, since joining the Greg Norman-run competition, DeChambeau has focused on another astonishing body transformation. The American lost up to nine kilograms in one month after looking to slim down in order to help his body maintain an injury-free golf career.
The golfer said he was struggling with inflammation after tournaments and wanted to get back to his 2018 season, which saw him win four titles on tour. And the 29-year-old recently addressed his body transformation when asked about how it impacted his epic golf swing.
“I would say that my body definitely has changed, and my swing is probably going to change, as well,” DeChambeau said to reporters at a LIV Golf interview. “That’s part of the process I’m trying to figure out. I was a lot skinnier and leaner when I was hitting it dead straight every single time in 2018.
Bryson is 5 under for his round and into a tie for 3rd in Tulsa. He works so hard on his game and has gone through another complete transformation of his body. It’s good to see it paying off and him finding form again. He’s so entertaining to watch! @b_dechambeau @Crushers_GC pic.twitter.com/Eo9ATmpUAQ

"That wasn’t the reason why I tried to get leaner, I just tried to decrease inflammation in my body, which I feel a heck of a lot better, man. I don’t feel like a – you know what I’m going to say.
“But I feel a lot cleaner and healthier and feel like I can live to over 100 now finally. A year and a half ago I was like, oh, man, that thing that I talked about living to 120, I don’t know if I can get there now with the weight I put on. A little different now.”
It remains to be seen if DeChambeau's new look will help him win another major. The American hasn't set the field alight in the no-cut LIV Golf events. But with the PGA Championship around the corner, the golfer appears a lot happier on and off the course.
