Paige Spiranac has clapped back at fans after brutal backlash over her comment on Greg Norman’s X-rated photo.

Norman sparked a social media frenzy this week when fans got more than they bargained for in a photo of the golf legend on the beach with his dog.

Norman revealed way too much for followers to stomach, with the photo going viral around the world.

On Tuesday, Spiranac joined in on the fun and commented, referencing Norman’s nickname ‘the Shark’.

“Greg ‘The Shark’ Norman. More like hammerhead shark,” the golfer-turned-social media star tweeted on Tuesday.

While all in good fun, some followers criticised Spiranac for seemingly objectifying Norman.

The 27-year-old has been vocal in the past in her criticism of archaic golf standards, particularly about what female players are allowed to wear on the course.

Some Twitter users accused Spiranac of double standards, saying she can’t complain about people commenting on her body if she is happy to comment about others like Norman.

But Spiranac wasn’t having any of it, shutting down fans in brutal fashion.

“I get this comment all the time. I want to set the record straight,” Spiranac wrote on Twitter.

“I have never and will never complain about that.

“Just don’t call me a sl** or a wh*** solely based on the tops I like to wear. It’s not that hard to understand.”

Spiranac responded to another follower, writing: “If someone makes a joke about my t***, I laugh.

“I know my brand. But there is a line and guys cross it more than not.

“That’s the only time I will stand up for myself and say it’s not okay because it’s not. That’s the whole point of my original tweet.”

Greg Norman photo sparks fan frenzy

Norman’s photo sparked a frenzy of online comments and jokes.

“Careful, your dog thinks you’re hiding a stick,” one fan wrote.

Another said “Shark, dog and python”, while a third wrote: “I cannot focus on the dog, my eyes were somewhere else.”

Norman, the former World No.1 who win the Open championship in 1986 and 1993, has yet to respond to the frenzy around his photo.

In 2018 he opened up about how he keeps such an insane physique at age 65.

“I work out a minimum of five days a week, sometimes six days. I always take at least one day off,” he said.

“I have a full gym at my house. I built it. It’s got a cardio room, a full weight room, free weights, all that stuff.

“At the end of the day, I do enjoy keeping fit at my age.

“I don’t have any ego about me, but I do love having a fit life.”
