Giddey leads Bulls past Green's Hornets in NBA

Josh Giddey has enjoyed a night out on his home court, registering 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to help Chicago beat a struggling Charlotte 109-95.

Ayo Dosunmu scored 19 points and Coby White 18 as the Bulls bounced back from two straight losses on Friday night.

Giddey hit three triples from eight attempts, and was 7-for-13 from the field, for Chicago (11-15), who led almost the entire way, sending the Hornets to their 13th loss in 16 games.

Fellow Australian Josh Green had nine points, two boards and two assists for Charlotte (7-18), who were led by Brandon Miller with 21 points.

The Hornets' LaMelo Ball, the NBA's third-leading scorer, missed his seventh straight game because of a strained left calf.

Staying in the Eastern Conference, and the top two also enjoyed home wins.

Darius Garland scored 24 points and Jarrett Allen had 21 points and 11 rebounds as the NBA-leading Cleveland Cavaliers beat Washington 115-105, sending the Wizards to their 18th loss in 19 games.

Donovan Mitchell scored 20 points and Garland added eight assists for the Cavs, who are 22-4 and hold a one-and-a-half game lead over Boston for the top record in the league.

The Celtics, without All-Star Jayson Tatum (knee), used a big second half to post their 20th victory and roll past the Detroit Pistons 123-99.

Payton Pritchard scored 27 points, which included seven three-pointers, and Derrick White added 23 points and he too drained seven from outside.

Boston connected on 20 threes for the night and led by as many as 32 points in the fourth quarter. Six Celtics reached double figures.

Elsewhere, Ja Morant had 28 points and 10 assists, and Memphis beat Brooklyn 135-119 for their fourth consecutive win to go second in the Western Conference, behind Oklahoma City.

The Grizzlies (18-8) lost their first two games against the Nets this season, for whom Aussie Ben Simmons had two points, four rebounds and eight assists in Tennessee.

Denver, Indiana, Minnesota, Phoenix and San Antonio were the other winners.
