Gbenga Ogunbote coy on Enyimba future

Gbenga Ogunbote insists his immediate priority remains seeing out the remainder of the 2016/17 season with Enyimba.

Before the commencement of the ongoing campaign, Ogunbote was signed by the People's Elephants in a deal that elapses after the Federation Cup final.

And with few months to that period, the former Shooting Stars handler stresses he is only bothered about ensuring Enyimba finish as high as possible in the Nigerian topflight table, with a league cup medal also in view.

“We are going to know how to cross the bridge when we get there. The season has not ended and I don’t want anything that will distract me from my job presently. We will see what happens at the end of the season,” Ogunbote told Goal .

“We have an important match on Sunday against MFM and we are channelling all our efforts towards that. We do not want anything that will hinder our preparation for the duel because we only have few games to rectify whatever we have done wrong to correct our season.

“I have enjoyed every bit of my stay with Enyimba but I don’t have any comment to give regarding what becomes of me at the end of the season for now. We thank God we won our last game with Kano Pillars and we are only thinking of another positive result in Lagos on Sunday.”

Enyimba are fourth in the log with 50 points, eight adrift leaders Plateau United, from 32 Nigeria Professional Football League matches.
