We here at For The Win are a family site, so we'll just describe what happened to poor French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati.

The 21-year-old used his pole to launch himself into the air, and as he got most of his body over the bar, he ... hit his crotch on the bar. And down it went. Ammirati eventually didn't make it to compete for a medal. That's the best way to describe it.

But he went viral and there were memes and jokes and replays, but we'll focus on what some commentators tried to do. Here's the dialogue as best as I could hear:

Play-by-play: "What happened here, coach [inaudible]?

Analyst: "... On the way down."

Play-by-play: "Ohhh."
