Camila Giorgi found herself at the centre of controversy at the French Open this week after she was forced to change the placement of a sponsorship logo on her dress.

However she wasn't the only Giorgi to spark controversy at Roland Garros.

During her fourth-round clash with Daria Kasatkina on Monday, Giorgi's father and coach was spotted in the crowd in a very compromising act.

At one stage during the match, TV cameras panned to Sergio Giorgi in the stands, who was apparently having a sneaky vape.

Sergio could be seen covering his face with a towel before blowing a puff of smoke.

Eagle-eyed fans didn't miss the funny moment, erupting on social media.

Tennis writer Tumaini Carayol tweeted: "Hope the cameraman/woman gets the raise they deserve."

Camila Giorgi in outfit controversy at French Open

Giorgi was spoken to by the umpire before her third-round clash with Aryna Sabalenka on Sunday, with the official asking her if she could change her dress.

The umpire was unhappy about the size and placement of a logo for sponsor DeLonghi, which could be seen on the left side of Giorgi's chest.

“I don’t have any change, this is my only dress. I played with it before,” Giorgi could be heard saying to the official.

The Italian star earlier had posted a photo on social media in the outfit, and she had worn the same one for her previous matches at the French Open.

But officials appeared to crack down on the outfit before Giorgi's match on Tuesday, with the logo moving from the Italian star's chest to her left shoulder.

Unfortunately for Giorgi she won't be able to wear the outfit again after she was thrashed by Kasatkina 6-2 6-2.

Kasatkina will now face fellow Russian Veronika Kudermetova in the quarter-finals, with the pair competing under neutral flags.

Russian and Belarusian flags and representation have been banned on the WTA and ATP tours following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The pair have also been banned from Wimbledon later this month due to UK government restrictions on Russian and Balarusian players competing at the All England Club.

But Kudermetova and Kasatkinaare are certainly making the most of their time at the clay-court major in Paris.

Kudermetova rallied to reach the last eight of a grand slam tournament for the first time in her career with a 1-6 6-3 6-1 victory over American Madison Keys.

“(We played) many times in juniors. We played so many times,” said Kasatkina.

“We were on one team winning Billie Jean King Cup last year, so we have many good memories to share together.

“Even before we played many European championships together because we’re the same age, so we have a lot of memories to share.

“We will have one more, playing quarters at Roland Garros, I think it’s a very nice moment.”
