Footy player breaks opponent's jaw with shocking flying knee

An Adelaide Aussie Rules player is facing a life ban after a number of sickening on-field incidents over the weekend.

Salisbury West player Adam Jones was reported a staggering four times in a game against Trinity Old Scholars on Saturday.

The worst of the incidents saw him raise his knee into the head of ducking opponent Carl Teusner, leaving him with a broken jaw.

Teusner says he wants the league to come down hard.

“That’s not part of footy,” he told 7News.

“To get a knee to the head is not right.

“The league has to do the right thing and come down heavy I hope.”

Jones was also seen elbowing an opponent in the head, kicking and kneeing players on the ground.

He will head to the Adelaide Footy League tribunal on Wednesday night, facing the possibility of a life ban.

He has previously been suspended for a total of seven games, and if his tally surpasses 12 he will be banned for life.

The Salisbury West Football Club is also facing the possibility of being kicked out of the competition after a spate of on-field incidents and player suspensions.

Just two weeks ago Simon Harraka was kicked out of the Northern Football League in Victoria for life for a similarly sickening incident.
