Arsenal skipper Cesc avoids Wembley to silence Barcelona rumours

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is not going to Wembley to see Barcelona face Manchester United in the Champions League final.

Fabregas has revealed he will be staying away from the Champions League final - to avoid accusations that he could be trying to engineer a move to Barcelona.

The Arsenal skipper wanted to rejoin his boyhood club last summer and remains a long-term target for the La Liga champions.

Last year, he had a Barca shirt thrust on him during Spain's World Cup celebrations but he will be on holiday when Pep Guardiola's team play at Wembley.

Fabregas, 24, who has been ruled out of the Gunners' final game of the season at Fulham on Sunday with a thigh injury, said: "I won't be at the final, I'll be on holiday - but I'll certainly be watching."
