Sol Bamba goes crazy, lashes out at manager

Cardiff’s Sol Bamba went completely berserk and was sent off against Ipswich town, for trying to fight the fourth official and even his own boss Neil Warnock.

Bamba blew his top after a late tackle from Ipswich’s Jonathan Douglas.

Teammates tried to calm him down and move him off the pitch but the red mist had set in.

He remonstrated with the fourth official before his manager Warnock tried to pull him off, only to have his efforts as peacekeeper brushed aside by the enraged Bamba.

“I didn’t really want to talk to Sol after the game so I will see him tomorrow,” Warnock said after the match.

“He just lost his rag but it was an aggressive attitude and I don’t condone Sol’s behaviour.

“He is distraught in the dressing room and quite rightly. For me, he is one of the best in the Championship and that was a blemish I haven’t seen in his make-up.”

Mick McCarthy, Ipswich’s manager also had some choice words about the incident.

“I have seen players lose it and I have lost it myself, but never on the fourth official,” he said.

“It probably was a foul but you can’t condone what he did – he thoroughly deserved to be sent off.”
