Wanderers striker's comical celebration fail

Western Sydney Wanderers star Kerem Bulut staged an epic goal celebration after slotting home against Melbourne City.

There was just one problem - he was ruled off side.

Bulut thought he'd scored early in the second half of the Wanderers' clash with Melbourne City on Friday night, racing behind the goals to celebrate with the Red and Black Bloc.

He hugged and danced with fans in an oblivious 30-second display as everyone else waited for him to realise that the linesman's flag was up.

When he finally worked it out, his reaction was priceless.

Replays later showed Bulut was onside, leaving the local boy incensed.

A late own-goal from City midfielder Neil Kilkenny gifted Western Sydney a point in a controversial 1-1 draw.

Bulut can rest assured he's not the first athlete to suffer a celebration fail, and he won't be the last.
