Filip Holosko is a talented freak: Grant

Sydney FC marquee striker Filip Holosko has already opened his account in the A-League but teammate Rhyan Grant says fans “haven’t seen anything yet”.

The Slovakian international impressed with his movement and a smart finish in Sydney’s 1-1 draw with Melbourne City last weekend.

Grant believes Holosko, along with fellow foreign star Milos Ninkovic, have a lot more tricks in their bags to lead the Sky Blues to the A-League title.

“Ninkovic and Holosko have already shown a bit of what they can do but we’ve seen a lot more at training and they are really good talents,” Grant told 7sport.com.au.

“Ninkovic is very tidy on the ball and Holosko is the ultimate professional, has a great physique and is a freak in all our drills.

“We know what we are capable of as a team and I think we needed to improve on a few things after last year’s grand final loss.

“They add something a bit different and it is what we need so we are all pretty positive looking ahead.”

Holosko has been reduced to light duties this week after pulling up early with a hamstring complaint but is expected to be fit for Sydney’s clash with Newcastle Jets this Saturday.

As for himself, Grant admits he could be left on the bench this weekend with the return of Alex Gersbach from international duty.

Despite barely putting a foot wrong last weekend Grant said he would support any decision coach Graham Arnold made.

“I’d definitely like to start but it all comes down to Arnie,” he said.

“At the end of the day Alex is a great player and there are no hard feelings.

“I think everyone saw how good he went last season and he provides something else being a left footer.

“It’s a tough one but like I said it is all up to Arnie.”
