Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed a $220,000 watch showcasing the moment he scored a goal against Manchester United only hours after the club announced the pair would part ways. Ronaldo has been on the periphery of the United squad since Erik Ten Hag joined before the season, despite ending the 2021/22 season as the team's top scorer.

The football icon then received swift backlash only days out from the FIFA World Cup after he let rip at Manchester United, his coach and situation at the club. And via a statement released overnight, Manchester United confirmed they had come to a mutual agreement with the 37-year-old to terminate his contract.

Ronaldo made 346 appearances for Manchester United in two separate stints with the club, netting 145 goals. And the bitter exit has taken a new twist after Ronaldo released his new watch in partnership with Jacobs and Co.

However, it was the detail on the watch that had fans stunned. The watch showed a photo of Ronaldo scoring one of his famous headed goals. But the image was from when Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid and scored against Manchester United in the Champions League.

While the timing may have been coincidental, it didn't stop fans going wild over the detail shortly after his sensational exit from the club.

Ronaldo's contract terminated at Manchester United

Ronaldo's exit from the club was ultimately sparked by his incendiary television interview with Piers Morgan, in which he said he felt 'betrayed' by the club. He has started in just four games under manager Erik ten Hag.

Among his comments in the programme were claims that he felt "betrayed" by United and that he had no respect for ten Hag. There were also wider complaints about the standard of facilities at the club as well as criticism of the owners.

When United responded by appointing lawyers to consider potential action for alleged breach of contract, it became clear a parting of the ways was likely. The confirmation of Ronaldo's exit from the team caused a massive stir among football fans on social media.
