Amateur footage has captured a scary Anzac Day brawl at the MCG referred to by a ground security guard as the “most savage” he’s ever witnessed.

The frightening scenes kicked off in the Ponsford Stand after Collingwood’s big win over the Bombers on Wednesday afternoon.

A section of fans can be seen jostling and arguing as scared bystanders are caught up in the chaos.

The sound of a young voice can be heard shouting from the crowd, “make them stop”, as the group of unruly supporters continue to go at one another.

An MCG security guard who was on duty at the time of the ugly incident said it felt “like something out of a movie.”

“I’ve worked around this kind of thing for quite a while,” the security guard told 3AW Radio.

“In the years of what I’ve been doing, this is hands down the most savage attack, mauling, I’ve ever seen in my life.

“It kicked off just before the end of the game — there was trouble the whole way through the game, mind you.

“We don’t know what kicked it off, all we know is that it was kicked off.

“It was savage, it was something you see in a movie — people being kicked in the head on the ground, little children crying, grown men jumping over seats.”

Incredibly, the security guard claims it was Collingwood fans fighting amongst themselves.

“At least 20 people involved, all Collingwood — Collingwood blokes fighting each other – not one Essendon fan.”

The incident comes just four days after AFL fans were involved in another wild brawl at Adelaide Oval.
