Star forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan says he’s “fallen in love” with the Western Bulldogs and is excited by his future at the club after penning a new two-year deal.

The 22-year-old has recommitted until the end of 2026 in an important list win for the Bulldogs, who are still pursuing the signatures of Tim English and Bailey Smith.

It cements Ugle-Hagan’s forward partnership with rising father-son star Sam Darcy and Aaron Naughton, who signed a bumper eight-year contract extension at the end of last season.

Ugle-Hagan, who has booted 71 goals in his first 51 games, said he was thrilled to remain at Whitten Oval.

“I’m really excited to be staying here. The Western Bulldogs have looked after me since I was 15 years old with the Next Generation Academy,” the former No. 1 pick said.

“Ever since then, I have just fallen in love with the club and it just feels like I’m at home.

“The boys make me feel like we’re a big family … everyone has been amazing since I walked in the doors. The best thing about our job is that we get to go into work every day with our best mates and train and compete with them.”

Bulldogs list boss Sam Power said Ugle-Hagan’s decision, which came after a difficult period of four losses in five games, was a “positive show of faith” in the club’s direction.

“We’re really excited as a football club that Jamarra has re-signed,” Power said.

“Having been a part of the Bulldogs since the age of 15, Jamarra has built a strong affiliation with the red, white and blue and is seen as a huge part of our future.

“His exciting attributes in the air and ability to impact games at such a young age are qualities that should excite our fans during the next stage of his career.
