Federer and Nadal's beautiful gesture for fellow player's daughter
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have gone out of their way to try and cheer up the daughter of one of their colleagues.
Federer and Nadal are well known for their classy displays on the court, but they’re also two of the nicest guys off it.
And the tennis legends have shown exactly that at the US Open this week.
Federer, Nadal, Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer were among a number of players who signed the cast of Mexican tennis player Santiago Gonzalez’s young daughter.
Gonzalez has been in action at Flushing Meadows playing doubles, and he’s had his little girl – broken arm and all – in tow.

He managed to track down Federer, Djokovic and Nadal and asked them to sign young Camila’s cast.

All three obliged, as well as offering the little lady some kind words.
As you can see in the video above, Nadal pinched her cheek with a massive smile to try and cheer her up.
Federer and Djokovic also wished her the best in her recovery.
Federer’s classy response to shock Millman loss
Roger Federer has heaped praise on Aussie conquerer John Millman after his shock upset at the US Open.
Gracious in defeat, Federer suspects Novak Djokovic might also be in for a tough one on Wednesday when the 13-times major champion is next to run into Millman in what will be the Queenslander’s maiden grand slam quarter-final.
“I love his intensity,” Federer said of Millman, his summer hitting partner in Switzerland earlier this year.
“He reminds me of David Ferrer and those other guys that I admire a lot when I see them, when I see how they train, the passion they have for the game. I love his intensity.
“He’s got a positive demeanour about himself on and off the court.
“I think he’s got a great backhand that he can protect very well down the line and cross-court. When you attack there in the wrong way, he will punish you, punish you every time for it.
“Then he has options, now especially where it’s a bit slower, to return in and return back.
“I think against Novak, he just has to bring it again, try to worry Novak, hope for another hot day, maybe.”
