Fantasy basketball: Waiver wire options for week 16 of the NBA
Week 16 of NBA Fantasy is about to start and the fantasy playoff situation should be starting to be clarified.
Make the right moves now and you will find yourself in a strong position come playoff time.
Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets
With Kevin Porter Jr. out with COVID and four games this week, Gordon is going to be playing a lot of point guard this week. Usage should spike as well.
NEW TWIST: Ben Simmons caught in ugly James Harden furore
'BULLSH*T': NBA fans in uproar over villain's 'thuggish' act
Likewise, Garrison Mathews should also start most of the week with Porter out and be able to score quite a lot of points.
KJ Martin, Houston Rockets
Martin has continued to outplay Jae’Sean Tate and is looking better and better.
He can have value this week, but I think it will continue to grow as the year moves on.
Monte Morris, Denver Nuggets
Not exciting, but nice schedule with four games and a solid, locked in role in Denver.
Darius Bazley, Oklahoma City Thunder
With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out, make sure Josh Giddey or Lu Dort aren’t available.
You could also look at Ty Jerome and Tre Mann, but I also expect Bazley to take a few more shots per game as well.
Luke Kennard, Los Angeles Clippers
I will be interested to see what happens to Kennard with Marcus Morris back, but before that happens, just grab Kennard and ride out his hot streak.
De’Anthony Melton, Memphis Grizzlies
Until Dillon Brooks is back, I hope Melton can continue to play 25 minutes a night as he has the last week.
Otto Porter Jr., Golden State Warriors
Like Melton, Porter has some nice short-term value due to injury.
Draymond Green remains out, so Porter is going to start and be able to produce most nights.
Watch for the back-to-backs, because Porter sits in one of those games most times they appear on the schedule.
