EPL star's gesture completes funniest story of 2018

One lucky fan has received a special visit from Everton star Richarlison after a bizarre incident landed him in hospital.

The fan celebrated one of the Brazilian’s two goals a little bit too hard, and managed to dislocate his elbow in the process.

Neil Harrison reached out to Richarlison on Twitter, uploading a photo of himself with his badly injured elbow in hospital.

“Look what you’ve done to me @richarlison97,” Neil Harrison tweeted.

The 21-year-old footballer was quick to make amends by giving the fan a day to remember.

Mr Harrison was obviously stoked with the hospital visit, uploading a photo of his elbow in a cast with Richarlison.

“Worth every single penny,” he tweeted.

And football fans were quick to send their own messages of support as well.

The kind gesture by the Everton new boy comes just days after he made a young fan cry with a touching post-game moment.

After dazzling on his debut for the Toffees, the touching moment between Richarlison and a youthful supporter was caught on camera.

He picked out the fan in the crowd, handed over his match jersey and then embraced him – leaving the fan teary and emotional.

If Richarlison’s two goals on debut for Everton hadn’t already won over the hearts of the fans, these heartwarming gestures certainly did.

The Brazilian winger was crucial in his new side’s goals in the 2-2 draw with Wolves at Molineux, the second coming despite Phil Jagielka’s earlier dismissal.

It was a performance befitting the £40 million ($A51m) the Toffees reportedly paid to sign the 21-year-old from Watford, for whom Marco Silva originally signed 12 months ago.

“I’m very happy for the two goals. It was a very difficult match because we had to run double,” the former Fluminense man told BT Sport.

“We played with one less player after the red card and it was very difficult, but one point away… it’s a very important debut for me.

“I know my responsibilities and I know also the coach has given me freedom to play my football in attack, so I know what I have to do on the pitch. I’m very happy.
