The first phase of the Europa League finished on Thursday night.

Manchester United ensured they finished fourth with a 2-0 win over FCSB, while Tottenham beat Elfsborg 3-0 on a night when the youngsters shined.

Rangers will also join them in the top eight after the Glasgow giants overcame Union Saint-Gilloise.

Lazio finished top, just ahead of Athletic Bilbao on goal difference. Eintracht Frankfurt, Lyon and Olympiakos will join them in the top eight.

Like in the Champions League this season, the teams who finish in the top eight will reach the round of 16, which begins in March.

Teams who finish between ninth and 24th will have to contest a two-legged knockout round next month.

Those who finish between 25th and 36th will be eliminated from European competition entirely.
