But one of the players of the tournament, Forsberg, hit back and scored his fourth goal of the competition.
The match ebbed and flowed as Forsberg hit the bar twice in normal time.
But the two teams couldn't be separated and entered extra-time.
The game then became a scrap as two tired teams tried everything to help their nation reach the quarter-final.
However, things took a nasty turn when Danielson went flying in on Besedin.
Danielson went to collect the bouncing ball, but instead hit Besedin high on the knee and hyper-extended his leg.

The red card marked the fourth time a player was sent off in extra-time and it was the first time since Euro 2000.
Danielson's red ultimately cost his team as Ukraine pushed forward and found a winner in the 121st minute of extra time to send them through to the quarter-finals.
