A Ronaldo penalty and a second effort added to the final score which was harsh on Hungary, who worked hard in front of a packed Puskas Area in Budapest - the only stadium to be filled to capacity at the Euros due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ronaldo's two goals takes him to 11 overall in all Euro tournaments, which grants him sole ownership of the record above France legend Michel Platini on nine.
The Juventus forward also broke a number of other Euro records.
He became the first player to appear in five Euro tournaments and also became the first person to score in five tournaments.
Fans took to social media to praise the remarkable achievement of the 36-year-old, considering this will most likely be his last Euro tournament.
The football world also praised the Portuguese star's second goal. which saw him round the keeper after a remarkable team move.
Insane that Ronaldo’s first European Championship goal was 17 years ago in the Euro 2004 opener against Greece and he’s still doing it at Euro 2020. The player of the century. #POR

Germany defeat sets up tense Portugal clash
Portugal had no trouble controlling the first half but struggled to convert their chances created into goals.
Diego Jota had a good early opportunity but his powerful header was saved by Hungary keeper Peter Gulacsi, who also managed to block an attempt by Ronaldo in the 19th minute when the Portuguese superstar was already offside.
Hungary threatened for the first time in the 37th minute, when Adam Szalai header was firmly held by Rui Patricio.
The second half started where the first left off and Pepe forced Gulacsi to make another save right away.
Hungary started to spend a bit more time in the Portuguese half, but still without great danger.
Bruno Fernandes had his first shot in the 68th minute but Gulacsi was again superb to save.
The stadium exploded with celebrations when Szabolcs Schon hit the net for Hungary, but the cheers soon became boos as the goal was rightly ruled out for offside.
In the other Group F clash, World Cup champions France defeated Germany 1-0 to set- up a tense second Group F round clash between Portugal and Germany.
