Ellyse Perry emulates cricket legends with insane feat never achieved by a female player before
The Aussie has entered an elite list of cricketers to achieve the feat.
Aussie cricket superstar Ellyse Perry has become the first woman to achieve 300 wickets and 7000 runs in international cricket after Australia hammered India in their ODI clash. Perry scored another century alongside teammate Georgia Voll as Australia defeated India by 122 runs at the Allan Border Oval in Brisbane.
Voll and Perry led Australia to 8-371 with Phoebe Litchfield (60) and Beth Mooney (56) contributing to the biggest ever ODI total against India in white-ball cricket. The visitors put on a strong showing having managed 249 - much better than their effort last Thursday as they scrambled to 100 - but they never threatened Australia's record target.
And to mark her entry into the history books, Perry was handed the player-of-the-match thanks to her 75-ball 105. Although the likes of Annabel Sutherland could have also been awarded the honour having claimed 4-39 and 21-year-old Voll with her maiden international hundred.
Perry has now scored 4,000 ODI runs and her century featured six sixes, which is a record for an Aussie in women's ODI cricket. She also broke another record against the visitors.
Her century came in 72 balls, which is the fastest hundred against India in a women's ODI. Perry has now entered an elite group of 14 cricketers to have scored 7,000 runs and taken 300 wickets in international cricket and she is the first woman on the list.
And while Perry would have been thrilled with the individual accolade, the Aussies already having one eye on next year's Women's World Cup. This comes after the team were shocked at the semi-final stage of the recent T20 World Cup.
"Today I got a bit of time out in the middle but the general feel amongst the group is that we're really trying to strive for something new here," Perry said. "And that's motivating in itself."

Ellyse Perry praises Georgia Voll after maiden century
Perry was full of praise for her teammate Voll with the 21-year-old carrying over her Big Bash form to the international arena. Voll got an opportunity in the team due to Alyssa Healy's injury before the series and has stood up for the green and gold.
"For Georgia to make the most of the chance that she's got off a really good Big Bash season is great, and I think everyone enjoyed watching that today," Perry said. "That's all you can ask of any player - to continue to push everyone around them, and play the best they can and make the most of any opportunity they get.

"What we're really trying to do is just encourage everyone to make the most of any opportunity they get and if they are able to seize that, rewards come, whether it's straight away or down the track. In Georgia's case, she's firmly put herself in the mind of the team and selectors going forward."
Australia has taken a 2-0 lead in the three match series. India will have a chance to avoid a series sweep on Wednesday when they meet in Perth.
