Dylan Brown under fire for Parramatta flop as 'farcical' Dally M point emerges in loss
There is more outrage as the Eels halfback was deemed one of the best three players on the field.
First it was Nicho Hynes, now Dylan Brown has been dragged into the Dally M outrage with NRL commentator Andrew Voss leading the outrage as the Eels halfback was awarded one point as the Raiders dismantled his team 41-8. Young Canberra half Ethan Strange was fantastic as the Raiders ripped through the Eels team time after time with Matt Timoko, Xavier Savage and James Schiller having a field day out wide.
The Eels lacked organisation throughout the match with Brown's move to halfback not going to plan so far. Eels coach Brad Arthur was asked about Brown after the game and whether he would consider moving him back to five-eighth and bringing in a specialist halfback.
Arthur defended his player after the game. “No, because I thought Dylan was very good tonight,” Arthur said when he was asked about Brown “He kicked well, he ran well, he scrambled well. Like I said, when you have everyone across the board not owning their fundamentals, that does put pressure on Dylan. That’s not going to help us.”
Brown had one try assist, one tackle break and made 25 tackles in a heavy loss. While he may have been one of the better Eels players, he was well behind many Raiders stars. And the scrutiny will be back on Brown after it emerged one judge has handed him a point in the Dally M voting.
"Dylan brown got. A Dally M point. He may have played well, in a badly beaten side, but there must have been three Raiders players better," Voss said on SEN Radio. Penrith Panthers legend Greg Alexander was adamant: "There was."
Earlier, Voss was more critical. "This judge could not have been at the game...it's a farce and an attack on the integrity of the award," he said.

Raiders players miss out amid Dylan Brown 'farce'
There were a number of players the one judge could have selected for one point but the biggest two that stand out is Strange and young winger Schiller both an incredible outing. Strange is just 19 years old, but was electric in the Raiders' attack against the Eels. However, one judge opted to hand Brown points over Strange in a baffling decision.
In just his second appearance for the year, winger Schiller scored a try, provided a try assist ran for 231 metres and had two tackle breaks. Hudson Young was also brilliant for the Raiders having scored a try, ran for 159 metres and made 20 tackles. Neither player were awarded a point.
This isn't the first time this year the Dally M points have caused uproar. Sharks halfback Nicho Hynes was leading the award after three weeks, despite many fans claiming the halfback wasn't the star in his team. Since the drama, Kalyn Ponga has moved to 17 points after a number of masterful displays. a number of players, including Dylan Edwards and Hynes trail on 12 points.
I wouldn’t have thought in any one’s mind he was the 3rd best on ground but thats just me!!
