Desailly: Chelseas commitment is to win everything

Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly believes the club is still in with a positive chance of winning the Premier League title this season.

Jose Mourinhos Blues were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace on the weekend which saw them relinquish top spot to Liverpool with just six fixtures remaining.

Desailly told talkSPORT that the west London outfit still had every opportunity to bridge the two-point gap with the in-form Reds while remaining ahead of third-placed Manchester City who are two points behind with two matches in hand.

The ex-France international also suggested that Mourinho was desperate to win the domestic title this season as it would give owner Roman Abramovich impetus to spend up in the summer.

"[The title] gone? No its not gone," Desailly told the Weekend Sports Breakfast show.

"You still have to believe and continue. This league this year is a bit special, every single team can lose against smaller opponents. We still have to believe it.

He added: "We know that the commitment of Chelsea is to win every single thing in the season.

"Strangely, I think Mourinho would prefer to win the Premier League again, to have real power in front of the management to spend big money next year and buy new players.
