David Warner embarrasses Chris Gayle with incredible right-handed batting

David Warner has blasted Chris Gayle for 14 runs off three balls while batting right-handed in Bangladesh.

The controversial Aussie was in sparkling form on Wednesday during his Sylhet Sixers’ clash with Rangpur Riders, smashing 61 not out off 36 balls.

But he was forced into a stunning mid-innings change when he was struggling to get Gayle away late in his innings.

Rather than just switch-hit or reverse-sweep, Warner faced-up to Gayle as a right-handed batsman.

He then proceeded to smash a six and two fours off the next three balls, leaving Gayle gobsmacked.

Warner smashed the first ball straight back over Gayle’s head for a maximum to bring up his half-century.

He then swept a low full toss behind square-leg for four, and then reverse-swept another ball for four, celebrating with a cheeky hip-shimmy dance in the process.

He explained why he changed sides after the match.

“It was one of those things [batting right-handed] at the back of my mind as I couldn’t get Chris away because of his height and the lengths that he was bowling,” Warner said at the post-match presentation.

“I play golf right-handed, so I thought I might as well come and swing and clear the ropes. It came off.”

Warner’s inning helped the Sixers reach 5-187.

Gayle’s Rangpur Riders could only manage 6-160 in reply as Warner’s side claimed a 27-run victory to rise to seventh in the standings.
