Canadian sports anchor Dan O’Toole has made a public and desperate plea for his missing baby to be returned.

O’Toole - who hosts TSN’s show ‘SportsCentre’ - took to social media to report his one-month-old daughter as missing.

The grieving father says he has been left "broken" by the ordeal and begged whoever abducted the child to return her "into my arms".

Father’s desperate plea for baby’s return

"My baby Oakland. I'm praying that whoever has you, is holding you. That whoever has taken you from me, is protecting you," he wrote in a post with an accompanying photo of his baby daughter.

"That whoever has you, lets you come back into my arms. I love you Oakland. I can't wait to one day hold you again. My heart is broken. I am broken.

"To be clear, Oakland is alive, we think. But we don't know. I have a one month old child, and I don't know where she is.'

Further details of the abduction are unclear, however local police have told the Daily Mail that they have not received reports of a missing child.

O’Toole added to his original post to clarify that he believed his ex-wife was in no way responsible for the baby's disappearance.

'ATTN: my amazing ex wife Corrie has NOTHING to do with this. Please leave her alone,' he said.

The anchor and his current wife, Corrie, have two other daughters, with Oakland born at the end of May.

O'Toole introduced his baby girl to the world on May 26, with a beautiful photo and caption to celebrate her momentous arrival.

"When you self isolate long enough, you get one of these as a door prize!!" O'Toole captioned the picture of his newborn with.

"Meet Oakland Eleanor Sandra Newman-O'Toole. My brand new lil girl who has a million names, and all of my heart.

"In case it was ever in doubt, now officially NEVER forgetting 2020," he added.
