Crystal Dunn signs 2-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain after departing Gotham
Dunn, a versatile multi-position player and USWNT regular, is heading overseas after just one season with Gotham
Another major name in the NWSL is heading overseas. Crystal Dunn, a three-time NWSL Champion and World Cup winner with the USWNT, has signed with Paris Saint-Germain through June 2027, the team announced Friday.
On Tuesday, Gotham FC announced the surprise news that Dunn would be leaving the team to "pursue a new opportunity." That opportunity, as it turns out, was a two-year deal to join PSG, one of the top teams in the French Première Ligue.

Dunn, who was born on Long Island, joined Gotham FC last offseason alongside USWNT teammates Rose Lavelle, Emily Sonnett and Tierna Davidson. The four of them all signed contracts through 2026 with the intention of leading Gotham to additional championships, after the team's 2023 victory. (Gotham fell just short last season, losing to the Washington Spirit in the NWSL semifinals.)
Dunn is a versatile, multi-position player. Although she typically plays left back for the USWNT, she was listed as a forward for Gotham, and has played attacking midfield throughout her career. It is unclear what position she will play at PSG.
During her time at Gotham, Dunn played in 23 games, starting in 13, while balancing international duties. She helped the USWNT earn its first Olympic gold medal in 12 years while in Paris this summer.
Dunn's departure represents a trend in the NWSL, with several American players heading to the Première Ligue and England's WSL this offseason. She is also the latest to leave Gotham, who has lost a number of once-starters, including Lynn Biyendolo (Williams) joining the Seattle Reign, Jenna Nighswonger transferring to Arsenal and a trio — Yazmeen Ryan, Delanie Sheehan and Abby Smith — heading to the Houston Dash.
