Batsman's inexplicable escape leaves fieldsmen gobsmacked
Players and commentators were left absolutely stunned in the Caribbean Premier League as a batsman received a remarkable stroke of luck.
Andre Fletcher was facing up as his St Lucia Stars side was taking on the Trinbago Knight Riders on Tuesday.
Fletcher played and missed at a straight delivery and thought he was dead to rights as the ball smashed his leg stump.
The fielders all went up with the flashing 'zing' bails, before they were left gobsmacked as they refused to fall.
Replays showed the leg bail lift out of its groove before falling straight back in and remaining steadfast.
The ball didn't just clip the stump, it absolutely smshed it, leaving commentators questioning Stars coach Simon Katich how that could be possible.
"Someone's put some chewing gum under the bail obviously," the Aussie said.
