Afghanistan batsman hits astounding one-handed, off-balance six

Najibullah Zadran has hit an extraordinary six over extra cover to help Afghanistan defeat the United Arab Emirates this morning.

Afghanistan required 20 runs off the final two overs to win the clash at the Desert T20 Challenge, a tournament for eight ICC associate members in the UAE.

Mohammad Shahzad took the ball for the 19th over but it turned out to be a horror run that handed the game to Afghanistan.

Karim Janat pulled Shahzad for four off the first ball and Shahzad bowled five wides with the second.

Later in the over Shahzad then bowled two deliveries outside off, with Zadran stealing two runs off the first.

The second looked far too wide but Zadran was desperate to finish it off, stretching to his left and losing his balance at the same time.

His left hand came off the bat and the ball still sailed over extra cover for six.

Two balls later Zadran pushed through a single to win the match, sending Afghanistan to the top of the Group A table.
