Symonds nails hilarious Boycott impersonation

Andrew Symonds left Big Bash viewers and colleagues in stitches after pulling off an amazing impersonation of English cricket legend Geoffrey Boycott.

The former Australia batsman was calling the game between the Scorchers and the Stars when he decided to switch to the unmistakable Yorkshire accent of the English commentator.

"So back at the WACA, Scorchers in real bother," Symonds said as his fellow commentators broke out in laughter.

Symonds continued his uncanny impersonation as Cameron Gannon steamed in to bowl at Tim Bresnan.

"Bang. Crash. Into leg side for four runs."

"Ha ha yes well called Geoffrey Boycott and the fellow Yorkshireman Tim Bresnan climbs into his work," Adam Gilchrist joked.

It's not the first time we've seen a brilliant impersonation in the Big Bash, with Andrew Flintoff channeling Elvis in 2015:

Bresnan finished up on 20 not out, with AJ Tye top-scoring for the Scorchers in the 7-wicket loss.

An unbeaten 44 from Stars batsman Kevin Pietersen helped the visitors chase down the 135-run victory target with 16 balls to spare.
