Shami castles Cook, completely shatters off stump

In one of the most remarkable dismissals of the year, India's Mohammed Shami has snapped Alastair Cook's off stump in half with a devastating delivery.

Shami bowled Cook with a ball that not only knocked back the stump but completely shattered it.

After India made 455 in their first innings of the second Test, Cook would have been looking to make a bright start for England.

However, the captain departed early as Shami thumped into off stump with such force that it snapped the top third clean off.

"That was an absolute beauty to Cook - one of the balls of the series so far, of the year," Nasser Hussain told Sky Sports.

England are in a deep hole at 5-103 and trailing India by 352 runs after two days.
