Cricket world loses it over photo of Aussie one-day squad

Australia will wear a retro kit when they tackle India in their ODI series starting Saturday, and fans are absolutely loving it.

Photos of the Aussie squad wearing the throwback uniform were published on Thursday, sending the cricket world into a frenzy.

The green and gold kits are replicas of the iconic ones Allan Border’s men wore against India in 1986.

“It’s pretty awesome actually,” veteran paceman Peter Siddle said of the new (old) gear.

“We found out the other day we were going to be in it, so the boys were a bit excited to get their pack and open up and check it out.

“I might just pull out the headband.

“I’ll have to ask Zamps (Adam Zampa) to borrow one of his and go with the DK (Dennis Lillee) headband.

“We’ll see what we pull out on Saturday.”

Cricket fans and fellow players took to social media to praise the choice of outfit.

And there were a few particular details in the photo that received special mention.

While most of the players were snapped with their hands on their knees, Siddle and Zampa were spotted in a slightly different pose.

Zampa had his left hand on Siddle’s right knee, and vice versa.

Not to mention Zampa’s bizarre shoe choice.

And many spotted Mitch Marsh showing brother Shaun some love, only with his pinky finger though.
