'Heartbroken': Virat Kohli leads tributes over teammate's devastating loss

Virat Kohli has led the tributes for the father of Indian stars Hardik and Krunal Pandya who died on Saturday morning.

Himanshu Pandya died after suffering a heart attack at the age of 71.

Hardik recently returned from Australia after taking part in the One Day International Series at the end of last year.

His brother, Krunal, is currently playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in India.

Virat Kohli leads tributes

Kohli led the tributes and said he was ‘heartbroken’ to hear of the devastating news.

“Heartbroken to hear about the demise of Hardik and Krunal’s dad. Spoke to him a couple of times, looked a joyful and full of life person,” Kohli tweeted.

“May his soul rest in peace. Stay strong you two.”

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar also offered his condolences.

“Really sorry to hear about the demise of your father ... Condolences to your family and friends,” Tendulkar tweeted.

“May God give you strength in these difficult times.”

The cricket community rallied around the family following the tragic death of Himanshu.
