Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have shared a photo of their newborn baby girl after the Indian captain left the successful tour of Australia back in December last year.

Kohli broke the baby news just hours after the Indian cricket team fought back to hold Australia to a draw in the third Test of the series at the SCG.

“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.

“Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives.”

But after nearly a month, Bollywood star Sharma shared the first photo of the pair holding their daughter, Vamika, to their millions of followers.

“We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level,” she wrote.

“Tears, laughter, worry, bliss - emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes.

“Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full.

“Thanking you all for your wishes , prayers and good energy.”
