Aussie wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy has sent the cricket world into meltdown after tackling a pitch invader during her team's Women's Premier League win. Healy's UP Warriorz had got off to a poor start in the second edition of the tournament in India and the Aussie had only contributed 18 runs across the two opening losses.

However, Healy provided support in the run chase with 33 off 29 balls as Kiran Navgire smashed a scintillating 57 off 31 at the other end as they chased down 162. Healy then watched as national teammate Grace Harris produced the winning runs to help the Warriorz get over the line with a seven-wicket win and 21 balls remaining.

While the victory was needed for Healy's team, her bizarre moment with a pitch invader had the cricket world stunned. Sajeevan Sajana was dismissed for the Mumbai Indians in the first innings, which prompted a short break in play.

And a pitch invader managed to get past security and run onto the field. And in a moment reminiscent of the great Andrew Symonds when he dropped a crowd member who ran onto the field, Healy opted to take matters into her own hands and attempt a tackle.

Healy was wearing pads and gloved and managed to slow down the pitch invader, before security stopped him. Fans around the world couldn't believe the moment.

Matildas star Sam Kerr was also involved in a pitch invader moment when she put a runner on his back during a match for Chelsea. And Healy's effort drew comparisons in a wild moment in front of millions watching.

Alyssa Healy thrilled to secure first Warriorz win

The Warriorz have suffered one heavy defeat to the Delhi Capitals, before losing to the Royal Challengers in a last-ball thriller. And Healy was proud the team were able to get their first win of the season to get the campaign started for the Warriorz.

"I'm just proud of the girls. They've never at any point dropped their heads, dropped their shoulders after out start to the campaign, they just come back every day and work even harder," said Healy. "Over the moon to get ourselves on the board and beat a quality side like Mumbai. It's nice to be able to board, get a win - but we've got a lot of work to do."

When asked how the team would celebrate the victory, Healy was adamant. "Ah, with cake! I mean that's what you do here in India - we get cake!" she said. Harris would be thrilled with her contribution after returning to form smashing 38 off 17 balls to help the Warriorz comfortably secure the win.
