Sachin Tendulkar's son emulates cricket great in 'brilliant' feat
Arjun Tendulkar - the son of India cricket great Sachin - is being celebrated around the world after matching a feat from his legendary father. The 23-year-old - who is generally regarded as a left-hand pace bowler - emulated his father with a maiden century on his first-class debut for Goa.
The young Tendulkar belted 120 runs off 207 balls, smashing 16 fours and two sixes on day two of his debut first-class match for Goa against Rajasthan, in the Ranji Trophy. The 23-year-old, whose primary role is that of a fast bowler, produced the impressive performance after coming in to bat at number seven.

Incredibly, the 23-year-old's milestone moment came 30 years after his father also scored a maiden first-class century in the same tournament - on debut for Mumbai against Gujarat. Remarkably, Sachin was only 15 years old when he achieved the feat.
Arjun is following in the footsteps of one of the finest cricketers of all time, with his father Sachin the leading run-scorer in the history of Test cricket (15,921 runs). Revered as God-like figure in India, the 49-year-old is also top of the all-time list for Test centuries (51) and has scored more fifties in all formats (264) than any other batsman.
While Arjun has some way to go before getting anywhere near some of his dad's extraordinary achievements, merely being mentioned in the same conversation as his famous father is impressive in itself. Unsurprisingly, the stunning piece of history has left the cricket world in awe.

Arjun Tendulkar looking to kick on after breakthrough feat
Arjun, who was Goa's leading wicket taker during the Vijay Hazare Trophy this season with a 32.37 average, is also a member of the Mumbai Indians' IPL squad, though he is yet to feature for them. His father's 100 not out for Bombay as a 15-year-old in 1988 was the first ton of an incredible career that saw him finish with a staggering 100 centuries in all formats, in one of the greatest careers of all time.
Arjun will be hoping to kick on from his breakthrough display for Goa and perhaps one day represent India at Test level. The Indians are currently in a strong position after day one of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong, after getting to stumps on 6-278.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer pulled India out a hole ater a a double strike by Taijul Islam - including Shubman Gill for 20 and danger man Virat Kohli for one - left the visitors on the back foot on 3-48. Stand-in captain KL Rahul was dismissed for 22 after playing it onto the stumps off the bowling of Khaled Ahmed.
A gutsy 46 by Rishabh Pant including six fours and two sixes helped steady the ship before Mehidy Hasan bowled the wicketkeeper-batsman after lunch. Pujara and Iyer then came together with India on 4-112 and made the bowlers pay despite signs of spin in the first-day track at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Rock-steady Pujara was bowled by Taijul for his third wicket of the day but not before the Sussex star had grounded out a workmanlike 90 that included 11 fours. Wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan dropped Pujara off Ebadot Hossain on 12 in the second ball of the second session.
Iyer remained unbeaten at the close on 82, while Axar Patel was out on the last ball of the day for 14, trapped leg-before as the second of off-spinner Mehidy's two wickets.
