Jos Buttler has left the cricket world in awe after blasting an extraordinary six off a delivery that bounced twice in the third ODI between England and the Netherlands.

Jason Roy struck 101 and Buttler a 64-ball 86 as England chased down 245 with 119 balls to spare to win the third ODI and clinch the series 3-0 on Wednesday.

NOT HAPPY: Aussies dudded by ridiculous farce in ODI loss

The first ODI matches between the two countries outside a Cricket World Cup finished in a predictable outcome, with England winning by 232 runs, six wickets and eight wickets over the past six days.

The Netherlands' total of 244 on Wednesday, which included 64 off 72 balls from captain Scott Edwards, never looked enough against their world-champion opposition on a batter's short-boundary paradise in Amstelveen - outside Amsterdam.

The gulf in class between the two sides was perfectly illustrated when Buttler showed no mercy after a gaffe from bowler Paul van Meekeren.

Van Meekeren's delivery slipped out of his hand and bounced twice before it got to Buttler, who scampered to his left and blasted the ball over the square leg boundary.

Buttler was at least a metre off the pitch when he hit the ball, dispatching it into the stands to the delight of cricket fans around the world.

Standing in as captain for the injured Eoin Morgan, Buttler hit seven fours and five sixes and got England to their target with a nonchalant flick down the ground.

He amassed a whopping 248 runs in the series - the most by a wicketkeeper without being dismissed in a men's ODI series ever - after clubbing 162 off 70 balls in England's word record total of 4-498 in the first match.

England complete ODI humiliation of Netherlands

The only blip in England's innings on Wednesday saw Phil Salt (49) and Dawid Malan dismissed in the space of three balls.

But Buttler and Roy, who hit 15 fours in for his 10th ODI century, got the innings back on track with an unbroken partnership of 163 off 125 balls.

Max O'Dowd (50) and Bas de Leede (56) earlier weighed in with half-centuries for the Dutch.

David Willey took 4-36 off 8.2 overs for England, including the final wicket of Van Meekeren (2), as the Dutch were dismissed with four balls remaining of their allotted 50 overs.

"Another great victory," said Buttler, who was named man of the series.

"I thought we played really well with the ball to restrict them, picked up wickets at crucial times and a brilliant batting display again.

"I'm feeling good. Don't get too giddy, just keep on going and enjoying it when I'm playing well.

"There's a lot of cricket coming up in a short space of time, which is very exciting.

"We've got great depth in the squad with more guys standing up on this trip and pushing up the competition in the squad, which is just what we want to see."
