ODI World Cup player of the tournament David Warner headlined some big names that have been snubbed in 'The Hundreds' player auction, while the Aussie women dominated.

All eight teams snubbed Warner after the opener was placed in the $215,000 bracket, which also saw Chris Gayle and Aussie captain Aaron Finch over looked in the second season of the tournament.

While Australia's two openers were snubbed, a number of the Aussie men did pick up contracts.

Spinner Adam Zampa ($173,000) will head to the Welsh Fire along with South African batter David Miller.

Dynamic batter Glenn Maxwell was retained by the London Spirit, along with Zak Crawley and Mark Wood.

Birmingham picked up Aussie wicket-keeper/batter Matthew Wade for $215,000, which delighted the former international.

“I watched a lot of the competition last year on TV, and I’m looking forward to getting to play in it this summer," Wade sad.

"Obviously the team got to the final last time out, so hoping we can go one better and lift the trophy.”

Birmingham also picked up Kane Richardson

Southern Brave retained Marcus Stoinis, while Manchester Originals grabbed Sean Abbott for $103,000.

Other big snubs in the $215,00 bracket was Pakistan internationals Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir.

Aussie women dominate The Hundred auction

While the men received a mix reception, Australia's World Cup-winning cricketers have dominated the opening women's picks for the Hundred competition.

Meg Lanning and her team of stars were in high demand in the women's draft, with the London Spirit swooping for Beth Mooney and Megan Schutt just two days after they helped their country to victory over England in the one-day showpiece.

England captain Heather Knight was retained by the Lord's-based side, who also added New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr.

The 21-year-old was initially selected by Southern Brave but missed the first edition of the tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic.

England opener Tammy Beaumont made the switch from Spirit to Welsh Fire where she will be joined by Australian duo Rachael Haynes and Annabel Sutherland, with the former having finished as the second-highest run scorer at the World Cup.

World Cup-winning skipper Lanning and rising Australian spinner Alana King were snapped up by the Trent Rockets.
