Coventry sign former Swansea midfielder Paterson
Coventry City have signed former Swansea and Bristol City attacking midfielder Jamie Paterson on a contract until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old had a stint in the United States with Charlotte, but has been a free agent since leaving the Major League Soccer side in November.
Coventry-born Paterson left Swansea last summer and now returns to the Championship - a league in which he has spent the majority of his career - with a Sky Blues side chasing a play-off place under boss Frank Lampard.
"He has great experience and is a quality player," said Lampard. "He is a really good addition for us and gives us competition in attacking areas with his versatility."
Paterson first featured in the second tier with Nottingham Forest in 2013, having moved to the City Ground from Walsall, and went on to play for Huddersfield, Bristol City, Derby County and Swansea.
