Colin Farrell doesn't need to wait to read reviews of his movies — he has his own critics waiting for him at home.

While speaking to Extra, the actor, 47, who is promoting his new Apple TV+ series Sugar, shared that his sons can finally watch his films now that they're a bit older. Farrell is dad to sons James, 20, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave, and Henry, 14, whom he shares with Ondine costar Alicja Bachleda-Curús.

"They're both at the stage in life where they can pretty much watch whatever they want," Farrell said of his boys. "A lot of the stuff I've done, particularly with the ages that they were, they could never have a look at."

"But it doesn't mean...I mean we have our own little Rotten Tomatoes committee of two at home," the star laughed.

"I mean they'd be sensitive to my feelings but yeah," he joked.

Last March, Farrell brought his younger son along with him as they attended the 95th Academy Awards. The actor, who was nominated for Best Actor for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin, was photographed on the red carpet with his son Henry, smiling together for the camera with their arms around one another.

Both father and son wore black tuxedos for the special event, accessorizing with matching bow ties.

That January, Farrell took time to give a sweet shout-out to his boys when he won a Golden Globe for Banshees of Inisherin.

"My kids are watching this at home. James and Henry, the loves of my life, I love you so much," the father of two said in his acceptance speech.

While Farrell is known for playing villains and mischievous characters, he's admitted in the past that his sons aren't huge fans of their dad's affinity for antagonist roles.

"They're sick of me being a bad guy," he previously said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Which apparently, reading between the lines, leads me to believe that they think I'm okay," he added.

When it came to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Farrell told PEOPLE that his role in the Harry Potter universe didn't mean a great deal to his kids.

"Not at all," he said when asked if his role made him a "cool dad", adding jokingly, "I'm just as boring and frustrating as I ever was."
