Clemence has 'no doubt' Barrow will improve

Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence says he has "no doubt" results will start to improve following the return of a number of "key players".

The Bluebirds have now gone nine League Two games without a win (D4 L5) following their 1-0 defeat at leaders Walsall on Saturday.

Since winning five of their opening seven matches, Barrow have taken three points just once in 12 - a run which has seen them slip from top of the table on 21 September to 15th.

Kian Spence, Gerard Garner and Emile Acquah are among those who have missed games in recent weeks but all played at the weekend.

Clemence accepted results "haven't been good enough lately" but believes his side can get back to winning ways.

"What I will say about our performance is first and foremost, I'm really pleased to have a lot of our key players back now," Clemence told BBC Radio Cumbria.

"I don't think we're a million miles away but I can't keep saying it. Unfortunately, most games we're either drawing one each or we're losing 1-0.

"It's got to change and around the penalty box, we've got to start doing a little bit better.

"I do think in the next number of weeks, things will improve. I've got no doubt about it."

Clemence said he is aware of the scrutiny that comes with a poor run of results and is looking to the home game against Fleetwood on Saturday to bounce back.

"There is no one that puts more pressure on themselves than me," he added.

"Of course, pressure does build if you're not winning games. The group are together. I can see they're working hard for me and that's all I care about."
