Clark on list of targets as Swans eye busy deadline day
Bobby Clark, Lewis O'Brien and Jacob Wright are all on Swansea City's list of potential midfield recruits as they look to strengthen before Monday's transfer deadline.
Red Bull Salzburg's Clark, 19, could return to British football on a loan deal having joined the Austrian club from Liverpool last summer.
Swansea are one of a handful of clubs who have shown interest in the England Under-20 international as they look for a forward-thinking midfield player.
The Championship club are chasing loan deals for O'Brien and Wright, two more defensive-minded midfielders, following the sale of Matt Grimes to Coventry City.
Swansea are thought to have made the best offer to Nottingham Forest for O'Brien, who is attracting interest from a number of Championship clubs having spent time on loan at Los Angeles FC earlier this season.
The former Huddersfield and Middlesbrough player, 26, is a proven Championship performer who Swansea feel would help fill the void left following Grimes' surprise exit, if they can get the deal over the line.
Wright, who like Clark is an England Under-20 international, would give Swansea another option as they adjust to life without Grimes.
Wright, 19, was in Swansea on Sunday, but is yet to complete what would be a loan move with a view to a permanent deal.
Manchester-born Wright is a player who is capable of breaking up play while also being comfortable in possession.
He has made three senior appearances under Pep Guardiola, all of which have come from the bench, having been part of City's academy since he was aged eight.
O'Brien, who played in the Premier League for Forest in 2022-23, has made almost 250 senior appearances having come through Huddersfield's academy, scoring 14 goals.
He has also played for Bradford City and DC United and has been linked with a host of Championship clubs in this transfer window, which closes at 23:00 GMT on Monday.
Clark has featured 18 times for RB Salzburg this season, including four appearances in the Champions League, scoring once.
The son of former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark, he moved to Austria in a £10m deal last August.
Clark was signed by former Liverpool assistant boss Pep Lijnders, who left his role as RB Salzburg boss in December after only seven months in charge.
