Chelsea in advanced talks to sell Angelo Gabriel to Al Nassr for surprise profit
Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are reportedly on the verge of signing Chelsea forward Angelo Gabriel.
The Brazilian, 19, joined the Blues from Santos in the summer of 2023 for £13million but is yet to make his first-team debut.
BlueCo sister club Strasbourg loaned Gabriel last season but he failed to score in 25 appearances. Previously, he notched five times in 129 appearances for Sao Paulo club Santos having made his debut aged 15.
Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte claim Al Nassr will pay a fee worth around £19.5m for Gabriel, representing a reasonable profit for Chelsea on a player discarded into their ‘bomb squad’ last month.
Besiktas had recently been reported as interested in him.
Al Nassr boast Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Otavio and Aymeric Laporte in their squad and, on Monday, they terminated the contract of ex-Manchester United defender Alex Telles.
After finishing second in the Saudi Pro League last season, they have targeted South American talent in the transfer market. Former West Ham target Wesley, 19, joined from Corinthians for £15m after goalkeeper Bento’s £15m move from Athletico Paranaense.
