USC football enters its Big Ten era against a familiar foe.

The No. 12 Trojans (2-0) are coming off their bye week and begin their inaugural season in the new conference with a road Big Ten game against No. 17 Michigan (2-1) at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is the Wolverines' second top-20 matchup in three weeks, and they are seeking a better result than when Texas blew them out.

The USC and Michigan programs are familiar with one another. The Trojans and Wolverines have faced off 10 times in their respective histories, with eight matchups coming in the Rose Bowl. USC leads the all-time series 6-4, including a 32-14 win over Michigan in the 2007 Rose Bowl.

Michigan is coming off a Week 28-18 victory over Arkansas State in Week 3, while USC had their bye week. While the Wolverines bounced back from a non-competitive loss to the Longhorns in Week 2, the offense sputtered as quarterback Davis Warren threw three interceptions against the Red Wolves. Warren, who has six interceptions in three games, was benched in favor of Alex Orji for this week's game.

The Trojans have 27-21 and 48-0 wins over LSU and Utah State, respectively, to open the season. Quarterback Miller Moss ― who took over for 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and 2024 NFL draft No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams ― 48-for-66, passing for 607 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
